The Route

Free route between four mandatory checkpoints, each in a city that has hosted the Olympic Games — fitting for a race that ends in Greece.

CP1 — Flåm, Norway. Climb out of the fjord on the Rallarvegen. CP2 — Tatra Mountains, Slovakia. A twin parcours over the Czech giant Pradĕd, then south to the foot of Chopok mountain. CP3 — Albania. A rollercoaster through one of Europe's remotest corners. CP4 — Leskovik, Albania/Greece border. Cross the Vjosa river and head south to the Peloponnese.

From the midnight sun in Norway to the Mediterranean heat of the Peloponnese.

Why this race

This is the race. The one that everything else is building towards. TCR is the original self-supported ultra — no team cars, no outside help, no fixed route. Just you, the bike, and a very long way south. The Trondheim start on the last night without true darkness adds something poetic to the suffering.
